Students and Chaperones from Ward 7&8 of Washington DC traveled with Roots to Glory Tours to Benin Republic. In Benin we met their counterparts, seven students from Benin who traveled with the group. We visited Adjara were we learned how to make traditional drums. The students experience meeting a King for the first time with the introduction of the King of Porto Novo. One of the highlights of the tour was when the students spent time at a music studio recording a song they put their own words too. In Abomey they had a chance to meet the descendant of the Dahomey King Behanzin and present King of Abomey.
