Tikar Family Reunion – Cameroon 2016

2016 is the year of the Tikar. It’s all about bringing the Tikar family together. There will be Tikars from all over the world convening in Foumban and Bankim at the end of the year for festivals in both villages.

Join us for a unique opportunity to visit two Cameroonian Kingdom’s. Bankim is the birthplace of the Tikar of Cameroon. Every two years for the past 700 years they have celebrated a festival they call the Gaen. Similarly the Nguon festival which takes place in Foumban is the baby of the festival which takes place in Bankim. Both events are equally exciting and filled with culture and tradition.

The dates for this trip are November 27, 2016 – December 7, 2016. We will travel to the West of Cameroon from Yaounde, and then to the Southwest to visit the slave port, Bimbia then we will finish our trip in Kribi. This trip is all about re-connecting to the Tikar family!

Don’t miss this opportunity to represent the American Tikars during these events. Register today to attend.
