Each year thousands of Africans in the Diaspora go through the process of tracing their DNA to determine where their ancestors originated. It is an emotional journey. The African Naming Ceremony is an extremely important event where we restore the traditional names for those whose ancestors were stripped of their name therefore of their traditional identity.
The African Naming Ceremony will take place at Pierce Mill – Rock Creek Park in Washington DC. This event will take place on September 5, 2015. There will be traditional leaders from various countries represented at this event. After the event we will follow up with a lunch at the Swahili Restaurant(Kenyan) in Beltsville, Maryland.
